Our health is in crisis and so is our climate.
What if there was a way of eating that may help us live healthier for longer and protect the future of our planet, too?
The good news is that evidence now shows a plant-based diet may offer us exactly that – and straight-talking nutritionist Simon Hill has done the hard work translating the science into actionable advice for everyday life.
Before transitioning to a plant-based diet Simon held many of the common misconceptions. But instead he experienced incredible improvements in his energy levels, digestion, mental clarity and post-workout recovery after making the shift. He’d finally understood the power of food and was determined to find out – and share – the agenda-free truth about the optimum diet for human health.
By undertaking a master’s degree in nutrition, poring over the latest scientific papers and books, and producing hundreds of hours of his internationally successful Plant Proof podcast, Simon has pursued the answers to all the questions he had about fuelling our bodies with more plants. Now, in his first book, he brings it all together into one inspiring and practical guide.
It covers:
– The reasons why we’re all so confused about what to eat
– The evidence showing how a plant-based diet might reduce risks of heart attacks and strokes, type 2 diabetes, cancer and dementia
– The positive impact of plant-based living for the climate and animal welfare
– Common myths about a plant-based diet – and what the real facts are
– How to build a healthy, satisfying plant-based plate, from macronutrients to micronutrients
– Practical tips for making the shift, and much more.
If you want to understand and unlock the many benefits of putting more plants on your plate, this book is for you.

No science shows such a thing. In fact, science shows that a plant-based diet is bad for you.
It is nearly impossible to consume a balanced vegan diet and even if you do, you still need to buy in a bunch of chemical supplements due to the lack of bioavailability of many nutrients in plants and, of course, the complete absence of Vitamin B.
A Master’s Degree in Nutrition is one of those ridiculous pieces of paper given to the low IQ children of the middle classes to make them feel better about themselves. It has no relationship to a qualification that confers any authority or expertise.

Yes, yes, @bleam200, we all know you don’t believe in science. Which is weird, considering what it appears you do believe, since science is a lot less delusional but, admittedly, a tad more crazy.

@bleam200 Yes, because whole foods and experimental substances made in a lab are the exact same thing. Great analogy ;)

I looked for your book on non-plant-based diets but didn’t find anything written by GordonCoon. Just as well. Now I’m just left with this book, written by someone with a Master’s Degree in Nutrition and, thereby, an expert on the subject and considered as such by absolutely everyone else with an opinion that matters. Even publishers. Are you mad at the expertise or the degree field? You can still get your Master’s in Nutrition if you study really hard. Or you might already have one, given how easy you feel they are to acquire. I eagerly await your thesis on this site.

Once I finally cut all plants out of my diet, my health issues disappeared. It turns out that while plants do offer nutrition, they also contain too many toxins that can interfere with good health. There is no shortage qualified information about this online. Now, I let the animals eat all the plants for me, and then I eat them. Win-win. My health and strength has never been better. No plan to change. 68 years old. Now, I’m gonna go grill some steaks!

A Master’s in Nutrition is not a qualification that I would wipe my backside with, let alone study for.
Non-science is nonsense.
And anyone who thinks a plant-based diet is a good idea? Well, you don’t need to read the book to find that the author has the IQ of a dead mouse.

Humans have been eating meat for over 250,000 years, and were extremely strong and healthy. They mixed what vegetables and greens they could find. The ONLY time meat is bad for you is when you eat it with starches, like potatoes, bread, pasta, corn, sugar and any other refined carbohydrates. Its great and very healthy with low starchy veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, squash, etc.. Even the Greeks knew this. Vegan diets are NOT healthy, and all meat diets are only good for short term weight loss. When you eat that way, the veggies fiber work with the meat to take it out of your system quickly.

The silent majority always speaks up to defend the system, even a dying system. A plant based diet is considered healthy by, not only the American dietetics association but also the British. It’s a scientific consensus, and that really pisses these folks off. Thanks for the upload, it’s perfect bate for these self-proclaimed protectors of the status quo.

I forgot to give this book link that goes with my awesome comment.
*Catching Fire - How Cooking Made Us Human - Richard Wrangham*
“In Catching Fire, one of the most ambitious arguments about human evolution since Darwin’s Descent of Man, renowned primatologist Richard Wrangham makes the claim that learning to cook food was the hinge on which human evolution turned. Eating cooked food, he argues, enabled us to evolve our large brains, and cooking itself became a primary focus of human social activity—in short, cooking made us the social, intelligent, and sexual species we are today. Path-breaking and provocative, Catching Fire will fascinate anyone interested in our ancient origins—or in our modern eating habits.”

I’d recommend checking out NutritionFacts. A channel that delves into (mostly) nutritional science: https://www.youtube.com/@NutritionFactsOrg/videos

Another interesting one that delves into other inter-related aspects such as environmental science, is this guy: https://www.youtube.com/@MictheVegan/videos

Wow these comments tell me that some sad dumb people get offended at the idea of eating vegetables. You just know every one of them is a joe rogan fan.
