All these comments quite obviously come from people who are not transgender or are lying to themselves about their gender identity. I’m sure they have a lot to say about abortion, too, though I’m not convinced any of them (by the way their comments read) even have a stake in the issue. And, so, regarding things they know nothing about and have no stake in, it sure is interesting that they have an opinion at all let alone think it should matter. They were even kind enough to add the necessary keywords that trumpets their regurgitating what they’ve been told to say and think and believe. Those that didn’t…well, they tried too hard to think independently and the incoherence of their comments reflect it. Not sure which is worse.

@Adol. As part of my degree I had to take Gender Studies. I can say categorically it’s a load of S**t. There are two sexes. Male - Female. If a person believes they are not in the right body. Ask yourself, How would they know? Have they been in the other body? So no, there is nothing in fact to support their feelings.
So it’s down to a choice/desire regardless if it right or wrong is not for us to decide. As each person has the right to decide their own self.
BUT. A child is different. A Child is someone that has to be Overseen. They are NOT capable of making these decisions and easily either manipulated or prone to fads. (This is why we have rules regarding alcohol, sex and why any person over a certain age messing with them ie, Pedo’s are despicable).
Until they are through adolescence, adults should NOT start interfering with their gender identification. An adults job is to keep children safe free from harm and to educate them. Not to confuse them or allow them to dictate how they are to be bought up.
Tell a kid he has ADHD and can get out of school. That kid has ADHD. Tell the parent that they get extra cash to help that child, Now his brother and sister has ADHD too. It human nature.
I’m disabled. I had a neighbour knock and ask if he could borrow my wheelchair and crutches as he had a Disability Assessment. His wife and he got angry and abusive when I refused. Extra Cash or Extra Attention is a hell of a motivator.
Stop trying to treat children as adults. It’s hard enough most times treating adults as adults.
Treat a child like a child and teach them to become adults. Taking them to therapy because they want to be in a different body. That is sheer madness.
It’s not a transgender issue - it’s a child abuse and bad parenting issue.

So I happen to be trans. I grew up in a pretty conservative country, and did not even know being trans was a thing until I went to university. Neither did my folks, or if they did, who knew. But throughout childhood, I always felt uncomfortable in my own skin. I didn’t know it was possible to transition, but I desperately wished that some good fairy godmother could intervene and change my reality. All of you saying that this is indoctrination, or some political agenda, or whatever, you are speaking from a place of ignorance. I was relatively lucky and able to transition in my early twenties, so my transition is better than most, but the reality is that, if I had been able to go through the correct puberty, my life would have been incalculably easier, because for better or worse, the earlier you transition, the better your outcomes, both physically and socially. Again, I am lucky in that I have a good degree and could build a good career on top of that, but for many of my peers, poverty, discrimination and isolation are daily realities if they transition, and if they don’t, chronic depression and high rates of suicide. So I am asking you to just step out of your echo-chambers for a while, and instead of judging from a place of ignorance, have a bit of empathy. Trans people are not a threat to you or your children. I had to go through a two year assessment period before I could even qualify for hormone therapy, and surgery requires even more hoops, and that one be adult. Nobody is trying to mutilate children here, just help the ones who really need it to lead a better life.
