Ask yourself: Who benefits from you training yourself to ignore when your body is telling you to stop working and take a break?
Hint: It’s not you.

Micamica2 - but that’s exactly how people improve in anything. Can I guess that you’re overweight and underemployed?

It’ll never work for humans who are political, religious or superstitious as all pre packaged world views based purely on emotion. Most of you ‘believers’ had no choice since the adults in your lives growing up crammed all their baggage into head from day 1. By the time you reached the age of reason any chance of thinking & learning for yourself had long been ruined. Many spend decades attempting to deprogrammed the toxic code mummy & dad seared into their brain. Spend your life being one parrot in a long multi generational line of parrots. Live an entire life unhampered by even one original thought.
Polly want a cracker Squawk! My dad said Squawk! Polly want a cracker Squawk! My pastor said Squawk! Polly want a cracker Squawk! My POTUS said Squawk! Polly want a cracker Squawk!
If those ‘adults’ hadn’t done that to you & you only discovered the politics, religion and/or superstition after you reached the age of reason, most of you would recognize & reject it for the nonsense it is.

Micamica2 does have a point. The human body does have innate signals of fatigue and exhaustion for good reasons.
But we also are a species that are dominated by a neuro-cognitive framework that might not have kept up with the era we live in.
In order to achieve, we perhaps must move from a pleasure based emotional based system, to a rational one.
Since humans don’t have to worry about famine, food, instant gratification, and shelter (majority of us anyways), we must retrain our brains.

The books is about regulating your body and other practices to affect your emotional wellbeing. The title sounds like an edgy, Navy Seal bro book but the contents are actually full of information. The guys talks about Yoga, being in touch with nature, chemicals in your body, exercise, floatation tanks etc.
If you’re expecting something tough and “bro” then you might be disappointed. To be honest, Steven Pressfields “The War of Art” is more aggressive than this book.

@4food @micamica2 The key is balance !
pushing through, doing more than what we are capable of is exactly the ‘purpose’ of stress.
But it must be used judiciously. It should improve things.
Do it too much and its a problem, do it too less and you are fat and unemployed
