The creator of the Polyvagal Theory explains the principles in simple terms that are accessible to all.
Since Stephen Porges first proposed the Polyvagal Theory in 1994, its basic idea-that the level of safety we feel impacts our health and happiness-has radically shifted how researchers and clinicians approach trauma interventions and therapeutic interactions. Yet despite its wide acceptance, most of the writing on the topic has been obscured behind clinical texts and scientific jargon.
Our Polyvagal World definitively presents how Polyvagal Theory can be understandable to all and demonstrates how its practical principles are applicable to anyone looking to live their safest, best, healthiest, and happiest life. What emerges is a worldview filled with optimism and hope, and an understanding as to why our bodies sometimes act in ways our brains wish they didn’t.
Filled with actionable advice and real-world examples, this book will change the way you think about your brain, body, and ability to stay calm in a world that feels increasingly overwhelming and stressful.

There’s no such thing as ‘trauma’. It’s all just a veil for laziness and attention seeking.
Toughen up snowflakes.

Wow Rebel I can tell you never had any real empathy.
I guess my buddies who went through real combat fought and survived were all wimps.
I will be sure to tell them that although I am sure you would never say that in their face as you would be picking your teeth off the floor.
You are a sad little troll that causes more problems than your miserable life is worth.
To think that I fought and had friends die just so you could live your sad life makes me sick. Every single combat veteran past and present would love to take a few good punches to your face for comments like that.
Ty for the upload I hope it helps someone.

@cluckers Rebel is only regurgitating what they’re told to believe. The mistake is actually voicing it but they don’t see it as such, they believe they are winning the culture war. And as your comment progresses, Rebel is likely gleeful at reading how upset they made you, picturing you red-faced and fuming as you pound your keyboard (or touchscreen…that’d be better!). ‘Sad little troll’ is what they brag to their online-buddies.
You imply a few things in your comment that lost your intended audience. You fought. I read ’sacrifice’ and ‘duty’ and ‘honor’. Rebel likely spent yesterday, Armistice Day (or Remembrance Day or simply Veteran’s Day), repeating the words of The Indicted Former Guy that those in the cemeteries were “suckers” and “losers”. Like TIFG, Rebel would wonder why those scores of men would trade their lives for freedom without getting anything out of it. They likely offered no thanks to anyone nor even contemplated a private moment of reflection in gratitude for their sacrifice. That they have a punchable face is almost assured based on the infection rotting their brain.
The upload is great and very appreciated. To you, @cluckers, I thank you and your buddies for serving and hope that you didn’t learn, like so many before you, how words like ‘duty’ and ‘honor’ can be twisted and self-serving to those who speak of it the most, just without that pesky ’sacrifice’ thing mucking up their rosy view of things.
