While nobody’s commented, I can see from the huge number of downloads that many people seem to need this resource.

The subject of narcissism and it’s various flavors: malicious, manipulative, peter pan, etc. is becoming much more prevalent in psychotherapy than ever before. Social media and a culture of “f your feelings” has made books about manipulation and gaslighting more urgent and important than ever. Thank you for this. Much appreciated.

Just want to say it is especially important to be aware of narcissistic personalities and abuse if you happen to be neurodiverse — AD/HD, ASD, etc.
Our difficulties with executive function and the more mundane aspects of adulting combined with difficulty reading the subtext in interpersonal relations can leave us particularly vulnerable to manipulation.
Users and grifters home in on us, offering companionship and taking over mundane tasks we readily surrender, often creating such profound dependency we are willing to cede body, soul and
checkbook.
Anyhow, thank you for the upload, we all need to learn about this stuff.

Funny how many people get this wrong… the word is actually “Gaslamping”, it comes from the gas lamps people used to light in olden times.

It’s truly astounding how so many people have got this wrong SMFUser320958.
I mean, even the 1938 play, whose title inspired the term Gaslighting, got the name of their play wrong and hence are not operating in the correct reality you are in:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gas_Light
The play got it wrong, the film based on the play got it wrong, the academics who used the film and play to inspire the phrase the coined in 1961 got it wrong, and everyone in the world is still getting it wrong.
It must make you feel very smug to be the only person in the world who has, in your own opinion, correctly used the term.
